The Bank of Spain presents its projections for the Spanish economy in Badajoz and analyses some of the main economic challenges with the social agents and the academic community of the region

A delegation from the Bank of Spain, headed by the director of the Department of Analysis of the Economic Situation, Jose M. González Mínguez, presented this morning at the Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences of the Badajoz campus of the University of Extremadura the macroeconomic projections of the Spanish economy for the period 2023-2025. The Bank of Spain's Survey on Economic Activity (EBAE) and the Central Balance Sheet – two sources of information that the Bank makes available to the community of analysts, researchers and companies to take the pulse of the economy and investigate its trends – and an analysis of the impact of the Recovery Plan, have also been presented. Transformation and Resilience on the different branches of activity of the Spanish economy.

During its stay in the capital of Badajoz, the delegation of the Bank of Spain has also maintained different contacts with prominent members of the economic fabric of the Autonomous Community. Thus, early in the morning, a working breakfast was held at the Banco de España branch with representatives of companies in the region. In this event, organized in collaboration with the Chambers of Commerce of Badajoz and Cáceres, businessmen and the Bank of Spain exchanged opinions about the current economic situation. In particular, the representatives of the Bank of Spain have presented and discussed with the attendees some of the main factors that are conditioning the economic evolution in our country and that could continue to do so in the near future. They also shared with the attendees the results of the EBAE.

In this same venue, a lunch was also held in which representatives of the regional administration and the business, trade union and university world of Extremadura were present. It has discussed some relevant issues for the future evolution of economic activity in Spain as a whole and the Autonomous Community of Extremadura.
